New Orleans Muzik is really nothing more then a great pot of gumbo. Luke James is just another reason why Gumbo is made best in the heart of the city. He’s a singer/songwriter who truly embodies the honesty and fresh, organic soulfulness that’s been in relatively short supply of late in contemporary music. Now that sounds like a pretty tall order for a newcomer to fulfill. However, the New Orleans native is very much up to the task. In fact, you’ve no doubt heard his work: he co-wrote Chris Brown’s “Crawl” and has penned songs for Justin Bieber (“That Should Be Me”) and Britney Spears (“Kill The Lights”), among others. And his growing fan base includes none other than Beyoncé, who selected James to appear in her “Run the World” video.
You may remember Luke from the duo group Luke & Q. While in high school in 2001, Luke joined a trio that started performing around New Orleans, opening for such acts as Brian McKnight. When things with the trio didn’t work out, Luke moved to Los Angeles after graduation and began singing background for R&B singer Tyrese. It was through the singer that Luke met production duo the Underdogs and signed with their label as part of a singing duo: Luke & Q.
When Luke & Q decided to go their separate ways,Luke began honing his skills as a songwriter after hooking up with producer Danja nearly four years ago. Since then, he has collaborated on songs for Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, BrittanySpears, Keri Hilson and Brandy and worked alongside such other producers as Kadis and Sean and the Messengers. Inspired by those collaborations, he rediscovered his footing as a singer in his own right. Now working on his latest project he brings us these Hot New Single.

If you have been keeping your ear to what’s hot coming from New Orleans and which artists are making their mark on the music game nation wide you should know the name Dee-1. With that said not much background info is needed. After watching this video we think that the visuals that were provided went great with the message of the song. To us the video touch on a few different aspects but, at the forefront of them was the undeniable story line of the young characters transition from innocence to his eyes being open to the reality of the world. Somewhat of a parallel to the innocence of man being lost in the garden of eden in which we assume the title for this record came about. Several parallels invoked thought when listening through the lyrics for this song which made it a great listen. Check the video out and let us know what you all think.
